Capgemini selection procedure(i've been placed on 23rd June'2006 through on-campuss)


I’ve been placed in CAPGEMINI on 23rd June’2007 through dream campussing from my college. My joining is in next year. I am describing the entire procedure below.

Current technologies: SAP, J2EE, MAINFRAME, .NET

Branch: In 37 countries.

Rank: Global ranked 2 in software outsourcing.

World’s no. 3 software consultancy company.

India’s no.4 software consultancy company.

Globally no.10 ranked technology Company.

In India: It started in India in 2002 with 400 employees.Current strength of employees is 4500.In 2007 its target is to be with 10000 employees in India.After acquiring Kanbay 5500
has been added.
Global status: 70,000 employees.(After aquiring Kanbay).
Salary for freshers: 2.50 lakhs per annum.

It was On-campus interview. It started at 9:30 a.m. and ended at 10:30 p.m. Four round very elimination process was there.

1st round: Total 157 appeared in apti test.Only 77 cleared apti.
2nd round: 77 appeared in G.D. Only 27 cleared G.D.
3rd round: 27 appeared in Technical round, only 15 cleared.
4th round: 15 appeared in H.R. round, 7 got eliminated.
So, finally 8 got job.

From B.Tech: 7 students got selected.
From MCA: 1 student got selected.

Reporting time was at 9:30 a.m. in my college.Capgeimini interviewers started their ppt at 10 a.m. Aptitude test was started at 10:30 a.m. and ended at 11:00 a.m.

APTITUDE ROUND:

Time 90 minutes, questions 90.
Total 3 sections were there.

i.Mathematical aptitude
ii.Logical and reasoning
iii.Verbal english.

Prepare from R.S.Agarwal’s aptitude books and Barron’s GRE book. For capgemini’s aptitude test you must study Barron’s GRE book.

G.D. ROUND:

G.D. topics
1)Euthanasia(mercy killing).
2)Education is a number game!
3)Censor board!

etc.

In my group topic was censor board.Say good points in G.D. to gain special mark.Talk confidently with bold voice in G.D.

Technical round:

There were two panels. In one panel they were asking questions from student’s choice paper. In another panel they were not giving any choice, questions were from many papers. In my panel there were three intrviewers.They asked me following questions in these round. Although it was technical round but they asked many HR-related questions also.They also asked numerical puzzles,aptitude.Questions on G.K.My this round took 45 minutes time.

  1. Introduce yourself.
  2. When is your brother’s birthday?
  3. When is yours?
  4. What is blog & blogging?
  5. What is your technical paper choice? Ans: SQL, PL/SQL. They said, “Good choice.”
  6. Explain what happens after opening a cursor?
  7. Suppose, there is a table having no primary key and redundancy is there. So, how can you delete a specific row? Ans: Using rowid. (Hint: Can’t use where clause as redundancy is there, no primary key.)
  8. What is row id? How is it beneficial?
  9. What’s the length of row-id?
  10. What is joining? How many types.
  11. SQL query on joining.
  12. Another SQL query.
  13. How can you use a procedure? (Interviewer actually meant how to reuse a procedure.)Ans: Using replace procedure.
  14. Numerical puzzle: 1/4th of a glass has been filled up by virus in 5 minutes. It gets doubled in each and every minute. How long it will take to fill the entire glass? Ans: 7 minutes. (Hint: 1/4 part got filled in five minutes.So, at 6th minute it’ll be doubled. That’s (1/4 * 2) = half. And hence at 7th minute it’ll be (1/2 * 2) = full 1 part.
  15. Another numerical question: 1st bell rings at 3rd second, 2nd bell rings at 5th second and 3rd bell rings at 7th second. When these will ring together? Ans: 105 sec. (Hint: Do LCM) I also had to explain that why i did LCM.
  16. 1 question from algebra.
  17. 1 question on surds.
  18. What did you last post on your blog?
  19. Tell me on three current affairs.
  20. In which club Argentina’s footballer Messi plays? Ans: I said Barcelona.
  21. How was our ppt? What is not in the ppt, but existing in our website?
  22. Where we have branches in India?
  23. What is your area of preference?
  24. Will your parents allow you to go any of these branches?

HR ROUND:

  1. Hi Cinthia,how was your technical?
  2. How was your day?
  3. Why do you think yourself suitable for any organization?Ans:I said my good points.
  4. Why do you want to come in capgemini?
  5. Why shall i take you in capgemini? Ans: I answered i m creative and innovative.
  6. How did you implement your innovative ideas in your reality?Ans: I gave one example on modifying a demo software project by implementing my own innovative ideas during my previous college.
  7. You saw our presentation.How was it?How can you improve it by implementing your innovative ideas?
  8. Did you see any other company’s presentation?If yes,which one is the best yet in your viewpoint?
  9. How can u implement your innovative ideas in software development?Ans: I explained the significance of innovative ideas in the designing phase of software development process.
  10. How can u implement your innovative ideas in software development,after being employee of capgemini?Ans:At first i have to specify the software requirements on basis of client’s demand.Then according to that i have to decide that which kind of innovative ideas i should implement so that it will be best suitable for the software.
